Penparcau Methodist Church
Penparcau Methodist Church is in the Penparcau community, situated about a mile south of Aberystwyth. The church is tucked away in the street behind the Post Office.
We are a small friendly cross-generational congregation, with people ranging in age from mid-teens right up to mid-eighties and we are always delighted to see new faces. We have a relaxed family atmosphere, enjoying a traditional service style. We don't run a separate Sunday School, instead our teenagers join in the whole service. Everyone is welcome!
We enjoy good ecumenical relationships. We belong to "Churches Working Together in Penparcau", and once a quarter we join with the local Church in Wales, St Anne's, for family worship. St Anne's congregation joins with us when there is a fifth Sunday in the month.
We have just completed some long overdue renovation work which means that we now have a new central heating system, new toilets and a more welcoming entrance way with glass doors.
Our first service in the newly renovated building will be on 23rd November. We will be celebrating early in 2009 when one of our teenagers will be accepted into membership.
We are extremely grateful to the Ebeneser congregation who shared their chapel with us during the renovation work.
