Capel Ebeneser • Ystumtuen
Capel Ebeneser is in Ystumtuen, a village approximately 12 miles east of Aberystwyth. Ysyumtuen was home to lead and silver mining in the 18th and 19th century, although the mines are now shut. Today, the area is mostly used for farming.
The current church building is approximately 150 years old, and was built by Cornish tin-miners when they came to work in the area. In August 2008, the church celebrated the 200th anniversary of the establishment of a Christian community in the village.
There is a service on the second Sunday of each month, starting at 2.30pm. The service is bilingual, using a mixture of Welsh and English worship. A warm welcome is extended to all.
